‘Education System does not function in isolation from the society of which it is an integral part’.DPS , Shiksha Kendra is our pride and commitment.It started in 2003 with a double figure and now we have 880 students coming from the neighbouring areas belonging to the economically weaker section of society.The school provides them with free books, stationery, uniform and bus facility.Students are also provided with a mid day snack/fruit.They are taken out regularly for educational and recreational trips.Students of Shiksha Kendra who show a consistently good academic record are integrated in the morning school.The school runs a sewing centre also for the women from these underprivileged families.
In this endeavour , the parent community has always been there to support the school at every step.The students indulge in various fund raising activities voluntarily for Shiksha Kendra.You too can be our partners in this community outreach programme by sending in clothes , reading material , stationery etc at the commencement of the session.You can be a volunteer too ! You can be of any age to make a difference to the society we live in.Reading material , toys , stationery , uniforms and woollens are donated by the parents every year.
