Cultural Exchange - Rhythm II (2025-26)

Bridging Cultures, Building Friendships
—A journey of hearts across continents—

The Indo-Spanish Cultural Exchange Programme 2025, held from October 8 to October 17, 2025, in collaboration with the Italian State Comprehensive Institute of Barcelona, Spain, was a vibrant celebration of friendship, learning, and cultural harmony. The journey began with warmth and excitement at the airport, where Indian students greeted their Spanish partners with placards, smiles, and open arms.

A traditional welcome with garlands the next morning set the tone for the enriching days ahead. The Spanish teachers, Ms Patrizia Carfagna and Ms Sonia Citarella, had the opportunity to meet Ms Aditi Misra, Director Principal, followed by a memorable photo session and a guided school tour. What followed was a delightful immersion into Indian art, music, and dance, where the visitors joined wholeheartedly in the spirited rhythms of bhangra and garba.

The days that followed unfolded like pages from a shared cultural story—beginning with a serene yoga session, a friendly cricket match, and a visit to DPS Sector 47, where the Spanish students interacted joyfully with young learners. The days spent with host families offered them a heartwarming glimpse into Indian hospitality, customs, and everyday life—an experience filled with laughter, warmth, and affection.

The much-awaited excursion to Agra and Jaipur was a feast for the senses. The majesty of the Taj Mahal, the grandeur of Amer Fort, and the charm of Panna Meena Ka Kund left the visitors spellbound by India’s rich heritage and architectural splendour. Upon their return to Gurgaon, the group explored Delhi’s landmarks—Qutub Minar, the National Science Museum, and Dilli Haat—each reflecting the capital’s vibrant tapestry of history, innovation, and artistry.

The Diwali Fete was another luminous highlight, where Indian and Spanish students celebrated the festival of lights together through games, food, music, and laughter—symbolising joy, togetherness, and shared celebration.

The farewell was an emotional culmination of a journey that had woven together hearts and cultures. As the Spanish delegation departed, they carried with them not just souvenirs, but memories, friendships, and a part of India’s soul—treasures that will forever transcend distance and time.

The exchange truly embodied the essence of global citizenship, cultural empathy, and learning beyond classrooms—values that DPS Gurgaon continues to nurture with pride and purpose.
