Exchange Programme 2023-24
The students of Delhi Public School, Sector 45, Gurgaon welcomed their Polish partners from VIII PALO, IB World School in Krakow, Poland on 23 October’23 for the seventh rhythm of the exchange. Seventeen students accompanied by their teacher coordinators, Ms. Zofia Julia Wojtusik along with Mr. Michał Marek Musielak, participated in the Exchange Programme. The Polish students met the Director Principal, Ms Aditi Misra, and were given a warm traditional welcome at the school. They interacted with the host students and attended the school orientation.
The seventh rhythm of the Indo Polish Student Cultural Exchange, was thoughtfully curated featuring a selection of activities designed to keep students from both the institutions productively engaged. Throughout their stay, the Polish students actively participated in art and dance classes, yoga and meditation sessions, and friendly sports matches. They visited the art department and the dance and music departments where they enjoyed participating in a variety of activities. From trying their hand at clay modeling and block printing to adorning their palms with intricate mehendi designs; from relishing the flavors of Indian cuisine to enjoying Bollywood movies, the Polish students had the chance to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Indian culture woven seamlessly with contemporary Indian life.
The Polish team also interacted with the students of ‘Shiksha Kendra’, an afternoon school for under privileged children. The students discussed measures taken in the two partner countries to control carbon footprint. They attended the annual show ‘Peace Whispers’ put up by the students of Primary school, which showcased the cultures of different countries. The students of both schools embarked on a journey to explore various heritage sites in Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra, further enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the rich history and cultural diversity of India.
The finale of the exchange was the Farewell Ceremony hosted by DPS Gurgaon on 6 Nov’ 23. Director Principal Ms. Aditi Misra applauded the students for their exceptional efforts and the enthusiastic support of parents throughout the program. She also acknowledged the outstanding work of the coordinators and expressed hope for such collaborations in the future. The cultural evening showcased captivating dance and music performances by the Polish and Indian students. A video presentations enabled the students to reminisce moments of camaraderie and collaborative experiences. The primary objective of this event is to foster mutual respect and cultural understanding between India and Poland. Concluding the event, Ms. Arpna Gupta, Vice Principal DPS Gurgaon, and Ms Mamta Kanti Kumar, Deputy Dean Student Welfare, extended their gratitude for the support from the leaders of both the institutions to make this Exchange successful.
