Online Exchange Programme
Delhi Public School, Gurgaon and Escola Francesc Macià, Primary School in Vilassar de Dalt, Barcelona, Spain, commenced an online exchange programme in the year 2017 for the students of class V. The motive was to encourage students to appreciate the similarities along with the differences between Spanish and Indian culture. In the year 2022 different activities were conducted to help students become aware of the culture of the two countries.
Phase I
• We received a video of Spanish students introducing themselves. They talked about what a day in the life of a student going to a school in Barcelona looks like. The link for the video is shared below:
• Similarly, our students from DPS Gurgaon made a very interesting video, in which they introduced themselves and talked about what a day in the life of a student going to a school in Gurugram looks like, in Spanish. The link is shared below:
Phase II
• The students from Barcelona then shared a document talking about a very interesting festival celebrated in Spain, “La Castanyada”. They shared pictures of different desserts prepared during the festival in school by students of different grades. The link is shared below:
• Students of DPS, Gurgaon, shared a visually stunning culmination of different videos of themselves celebrating the festival of lights, Diwali. They explained the significance of Diwali, why and how we celebrate it, through pictures and videos. The link is shared below:
Phase III
• Our colorful journey concluded with the celebration of one of the most beloved festivals, Christmas! Spanish students sang a very famous Christmas carol, “Oh come oh you, faithful”, whilst students from Delhi Public School shared a video showcasing their classroom decorations, Christmas activities and also sang the famous Spanish Christmas song, “Blanca Navidad”.
